Annotated Bibliography

24 Oct

1. Choose a topic related to one (or two) to a particular person or subject in the humanities of the twentieth or twenty-first century and find six books or articles of high quality that will be useful for writing about that topic.

2. Write an introductory paragraph giving an overview of your findings and summarizing the general trends you can perceive in the field, including what you think might be fruitful areas for further investigation.

3. Create bibliography entries for each item.

Each annotated bibliography entry should begin by identifying the source being annotated in correct MLA Documentation style and contain these items:

A brief description of the author’s topic, thesis, and methodology.
A sentence or two describing the way the author organizes the text.
Anything else important about the author’s goals or intended audience.
Your entire assignment should be about 1,500-1,800 words long.
